About Morgan

Who's this gal, anyway?

You show up for everyone else. I'd like to help you show up for you, too.

Hi, I'm Morgan.

I'm a mom of a tween and a teen. Which means I know how loud a quiet house can get, and how a hard day at theirschool somehow ends up in your shoulders by dinnertime.

I've been practicing yoga for 25 years and teaching for 20. But what I actually teach is smaller than that: how to find a little steadiness in an ordinary, overfull day — when your mind, your body, and your time already belong to someone else.

Here's the part that took me a long time to say out loud.

For years, I rooted my worth in what other people thought of me. I was shy. I followed every rule. I figured if I did everything right, maybe I'd end up okay. I was excellent at meeting expectations — and completely lost when it came to knowing myself.

Then I became a mom. And I started to notice familiar patterns showing up in someone I love very much.

That changed what I teach, and who I teach it to.

What you'll find here (and what you won't).

I won't tell you that yoga fixes everything. It doesn't. I pair it with breathwork and meditation because different days call for different tools, and because no single practice works the same way for every person.

I will always tell you the why. My background is in physiological science — I've got degrees in physiology and nutrition, I'm a certified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction facilitator and breathwork teacher, and I write about health for places like SELF and Well+Good. Before I share something with you, I've read the research on it. Sometimes fistfuls of it. (You can take the syllabus away from the girl...)

I also believe yoga is for every body, and I mean that literally. I've taught people with knee replacements, vertigo, and hernias. I've practiced through my own fatigue and muscle spasms. There's no version of your body that's too anything to start.

One more thing:

Have you ever heard this line from G.K. Chesterton? Angels can fly because they can take themselves lightly. I love that line. Life's too short to be too serious about any of this — so expect some play, some trial and error, some face plants and plateaus. That's not the detour. That's the whole thing.

Sleeves up. Heart open. Let's begin.
